Another great way to save money is on food. If you cook your own food for the week you'll save money over buying every meal at Cornerstone. The more people you have in your group the more you can split the cost of food for the week because when you can buy in bulk you will save. We spend about $300.00 to $500.00 on food for the week when our group is between 15 and 20 people. This means you could spend as little as $20.00 per person in the group for the week. Whereas you could spend $100.00, depending on how much you eat, buying every meal at the food court.
With gas prices as high as they are if you can share a ride with someone and split the cost you could save a great deal of money. Use the Phantom Tollbooth Ride Board to find a ride or share one. If you are driving there are a few things that can help improve your gas mileage. A clean vehicle can add as much as a mile per gallon to your performance. If you haven't changed your air filter in a while you should put a new one in your engine to boost your MPG. New oil and a new oil filter can also help. New spark plugs and wires will help keep your engine running at peak performance. Also keeping your tires inflated to their proper level will help as well as keeping all of the engine fluids topped off.
