Smell My Face
If you are wondering what "Smell My Face" means or why we say it, here is the story to help.
Some people have asked about a DJ in the Washington DC area using this phrase on his show and wonder why we use it. We have no affiliation with the DJ or the radio station. We like the phrase and think it is funny mostly because it makes no sense and has no meaning. We make friends by saying it as much as we possibly can while we are camping at the Cornerstone Festival in Central Illinois. Most people come over and ask what it means and we tell them that it has no meaning; it is just used to make new friends.
We are successful in our mission to make friends considering we have friends all over the country and all over the world. We also continuously make new friends yearly and grow our group. We try to get together with or keep in contact with the friends that we make and at the very least hang out during Cornerstone.
There is no meaning behind the phrase "Smell My Face" when we use it, other than to make people come over and ask what it means so we can make new friends. The same is true with the name of God, when used in reverence and humility it is just a respectful way to speak about our Lord, but when some people say it they take it in vain and then it has a meaning behind it that is not appreciated by Christians and like-minded individuals.
Jesus said, "Go into all the world and make disciples..." If we can do that by reaching people with a phrase that is funny, then so be it. We like Christian music, Cornerstone Festival, and we enjoy getting together with our friends and making new ones every year.
